I was watching TV some time ago and was amazed and, more so, disgusted to see an advertisement for children's carnival costumes, where one of these costumes was in fact a nun's modified habit.

I say modified as, as expected, the top part was practically a replica of the real habit, while the lower part was, of course, a mini skirt.

How do the authorities allow the advertising of an illegal item on television? It is against the law to dress up in any sort of military or religious uniform and, moreover, what level of morality does the importer of these costumes have to sell such costumes mocking the religious order even when young children are involved?

With some stretch of imagination, one might accept it as a joke in adult fancy dress parties (even though I myself am still against such behaviour when there are several hundreds of other ideas and costumes to wear!) but definitely not in the case of young children, several hundreds of whom attend a nun's school for their daily education!
