Trade Fair's 50 years

To mark its 50th anniversary the Malta Trade Fairs Corporation launched its calendar of events at a ceremony held at the Trade Fair's Marchese Scicluna Hall last Friday.

The corporation's executive producer, Noel Calleja, highlighted the activities and productions to be held during the year, including Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, the participation of cellist Julian Lloyd Webber and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem - to be performed by the National Orchestra conducted by Joseph Vella.

Other activities include the Classical Connections Concert performed by ANSTAN and Julian Lloyd Webber, A Night with Fabrizio Faniello and a debutantes' concert.

Professional local photographers will be exhibiting their work, while an art competition will be open to all schools to create the logo and poster of the 48th International Fair of Malta.

George F. Said, general manager of the corporation, also launched the Calendar of Fairs for this year.
