Three men were arraigned in court yesterday to face charges of using counterfeit banknotes.

The police said the arraignments followed arrests by the Economic Crimes Unit after days of observation during which counterfeit money was seized from various petrol stations.

The men, from L-Iklin, Birkirkara and San Gwann, were arraigned before Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera and granted bail on a personal guarantee of Lm2,000 each.
