AAA treatment for pony 'in distress'

The pony is now being cared for in a field in Pembroke.

The pony is now being cared for in a field in Pembroke.

The Abandoned Animals Association went to the rescue of an animal - not a dog or a litter of puppies - but a pony.

The AAA's Alfred Fenech said he was informed by an animal lover about the condition of the pony which was spotted in a field in Zebbug.

Mr Fenech said a benefactor bought the pony from its owner and is now keeping it at Pembroke where it is being cared for with the assistance of the AAA.

A veterinarian was asked to examine the pony.

Mr Fenech appealed to anyone wishing to help to donate money for the medicine required for the pony's care. Donations can be directed to PO Box 60, Gzira. Mr Fenech can be contacted on 9936 4888.
