A Zabbar man was yesterday charged with filing a police report against a notary when he knew him to be innocent.

Nazzareno Grech, 50, was summoned by citation to appear before Magistrate Abigail Lofaro where he pleaded not guilty to filing the false report against Charles Vella Zarb.

Police Inspector Helga Debono prosecuted.

Dr José Herrera appeared for Grech.
