As the 15-15 score shows, this match, which rounded up Sunday's programme, between Fuego Champs and Kerygma 'A' was undoubtedly the most exciting.

The balance between the two teams was evident from the early stages with the score at the end of the first quarter reading 3-3.

Kerygma put their noses slightly in front in the second quarter as Fuego Champs wasted numerous shot attempts.

However, an effective substitution by Fuego in the third quarter brought them closer to their opponents.

Neither team managed to build a comfortable lead in the last minutes, tension creeping in both sets of players who were guilty of some hasty conclusions. In the end, the drawn outcome was a fair one.

Umpires: Maria Farrugia, Mandy Bartolo.

Best players: Fuego Champs - Jacqueline Cassar; Kerygma 'A' - Rina Ghiller.

NRG Barbecue World 5
Marsascala Angels 20

The early exchanges were littered by a series of lost balls as both teams found it hard to settle down. The score at the end of the first quarter was 3-2 for NRG.

Marsascala's passing throughout the court lacked accuracy in the second quarter but their shooters compensated for this weakness by converting most of the attempted shots.

The third and last quarter was dominated by Angels as NRG struggled to keep up with their opponents' pace.

Umpires: Tessie Bonello, Margaret Bartolo.

Best players: NRG - Christlene Galea; Marsascala Angels - Lara Camilleri.

All Ages Eurochange 34
Mellieha 6

Mellieha held their own in the opening minutes against an unsettled All Ages Eurochange side who started this match without two of their regular players.

However, the second quarter produced a different story with All Ages rediscovering some of their usual form to lead Mellieha 9-1.

All Ages roped in some new players during the third quarter but this did not hamper the team's performance as they cruised to victory.

Umpires: Jennifer Mangani, Margaret Bartolo.

Best players: All Ages Eurochange - Sharon Genovese; Mellieha - Kim Trapani.

Ta' Xbiex ASC Wolverines 22
New Ages 13

Wolverines started their encounter with New Ages confidently to end the first quarter 8-0 ahead.

New Ages did improve their performance but though they managed to pose more of a threat to their opponents for the remainder of the game, it was always going to be difficult for them to cancel out the gap on Ta' Xbiex.

Umpires: Maria Farrugia, Mandy Bartolo.

Best players: Ta' Xbiex - Charlene Zammit; New Ages - Melissa Depasquale.
