The president of the German-Maltese Chamber of Commerce, Henry J. Borg, has welcomed the introduction of the new flight service by Lufthansa to and from Munich, which, he said, was expected to enhance business and tourism between the two countries.

Mr Borg said Munich was one of the main business centres of Germany and the new flight will surely be of benefit to all those business people - both local and Germans - when travelling between the two countries on business.

Lufthansa, which has been operating a daily flight to Frankfurt for over 10 years, will be offering the direct service to Munich three times a week as from end March.
