M.Ed. programmes for February
As in previous years, the Faculty of Education will be offering a number of M.Ed. specialisations which include: Philosophy of Education, ICT in Education (three places); Adult Education (eight places); and Science Education (12 places).
Students undertaking a Master's in Education will follow three core modules and five modules in their chosen specialisation. They will also be asked to write a dissertation.
The three core modules offered at the outset of the course include: Critical Debates in Education (Module 1); Quantitative Research Methods (Module 2); and Qualitative Research Methods (Module 3)
The modules for the four different specialisations include:
Philosophy of Education: Philosophy of Education; Philosophical Themes in Education; Philosophical Inquiry; and Philosophy in the Classroom; ICT in Education: Doing and Evaluating Research in ICT in Education; Developments in ICT and their Impact on Education; Recent Developments in ICT in Teacher Education; Recent Developments in ICT in Education.
Adult Education: Lifelong Learning and the Learning Society; Critical Approaches to Adult Education; Adult Education in Malta; Adult Education and the Community; and Adult Education and Work.
Science Education: Science Education: Problems of Definition and Delivery; Learning and Understanding Science: Issues and Debates; Information and Communications Technology in Science Learning; Inclusivity and Diversity in Science Learning; and Research Methods in Science Education.
