Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, last Friday introduced Chauffeur Drive Service for departing and arriving passengers in Malta. Travellers buying an Emirates First or Business Class ticket in Malta or abroad can arrive at and leave Malta International Airport in a chauffeur-driven car.

Emirates provides the Chauffeur Drive Service in most of its destinations. "Emirates is the first international airline in Malta to provide complimentary airport transfers on departure and arrival for its First and Business class travellers," Paul Fleri Soler, Emirates' district manager, said.

"We are pleased to be able to provide the Chauffeur Drive Service to our special customers in Malta. Passengers travelling on First or Business Class will be picked up from their address in Malta and driven to the airport, and the same on their return in Malta. The service is also extended to/from Gozo, inclusive of the ferry crossing.

Emirates operates three direct flights each week from Dubai to Malta, on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Sundays on the wide-bodied A330-200 aircraft. Flights from Malta to Dubai fly via Tripoli. The Malta route gives a convenient connection to outgoing and incoming passengers from the Far East and Australia.

"Our contracted partner for the Chauffeur Drive Service is John's Garage, whose reputation for quality and reliability matches the high levels of service our premium clients would expect on any Emirates flights," Mr Fleri Soler said.

"Individuals, couples or families will now enjoy more the convenience and comfort of travelling with us, from the moment they leave their residence. And this service is free of charge."

John's Garage will be making use of their luxury fleet of BMW 5 series and Mercedes E-Class cars for the Emirates airport pick-up service.

Emirates is one of the fastest growing and most profitable airlines in the world, operating to 78 destinations in 55 countries from its Dubai base. Early this month it launched new services to Seychelles.

This year it will start passenger and belly-hold cargo services to Seoul, Hamburg (the airline's fourth gateway to Germany) and Geneva (the airline's second gateway to Switzerland), expanding the Emirates network to 81 destinations by the end of the year.
