An agreement has been reached between the Ministry for Competitiveness and the Rural Affairs and Environment Ministry with Foster Clark Products Ltd on temporary state aid for sugar.

The government said that as a result of the agreement extra fine grade sugar should continue being bought at competitive prices. The agreement should also ensure that Foster Clark - which employs about 300 people - continues expanding its operation in Malta and export to Middle East and North Africa markets.
