HSBC employees continued to raise funds for the victims of the tsunami in South East Asia during a dress down day on Friday.
HSBC Malta's dress down day formed part of a worldwide effort by the HSBC Group to assist those affected by the catastrophic events on Boxing Day.
HSBC has already committed $2 million to the relief effort, including a $1 million donation to the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the establishment of a $1 million fund which will be used to match donations given by HSBC employees around the globe.
"HSBC's employees around the world have responded magnificently to the bank's appeal to raise funds for the millions of people affected by the tsunami disaster.
"Malta has been no exception. Not only have employees helped to raise Lm5,000 but many have also taken individual initiatives to donate both money and other items," Godfrey Swain, HSBC's head of marketing and communications, said.
