Luxol with a score to settle against Depiro

This weekend sees the start of the second round of the Kinnie League after the festive break with Bupa Luxol seeking revenge in the main match tomorrow for their unexpected 68-60 upset to Depiro in the opening match of the campaign back on November 20.

This afternoon, leaders Pembroke take on Footwork with tomorrow's second match between Siggiewi Smina and Hamrun Go Mobile completing the programme.

Pembroke are still unbeaten after five matches in the regular season. They start favourites to collect their sixth win at the expense of Footwork.

During the transfer window, the Reds strengthened their side with the signing of Marco Pisani, ex-Siggiewi, Jean Paul Azzopardi, from Depiro, and the return of Trevor Degiorgio who was on loan to Mosta.

John Tabone, the Luxol coach, is likely to have a full strength squad against Depiro. Pivot Silvio Cassar and sharp shooter Robert Azzopardi had ample time to recover their fitness as the team will go all out to impose their superiority on Depiro and avoid a third defeat at this early stage of the competition.

Hamrun should account of bottom-placed Siggiewi who are likely to parade some new players, including Paul Ferrante, who joined from Hamrun.

The women's league resumed yesterday evening with two matches. Tomorrow, undisputed leaders Hibs Go Mobile will try to extend their unbeaten run when they take on Luxol Vodafone.
