Journal of Maltese Education Research

The Faculty of Education has recently published another issue of the Journal of Maltese Education Research (JMER). The articles include: "The role of boys' peer groups in a secondary school in Malta"; "The Differentiated Paper in SEC Mathematics: students' choices, views and aspirations"; "Why critical-democratic engagement?"; "Students' readiness for online learning: a case study from the Faculty of Education, University of Malta"; and "Primary Education: simply an academic experience?"

First published in February 2003, JMER is edited by Dr Carmel Borg, Dean of the Faculty of Education, on behalf of the Faculty's Publications and Research Dissemination Committee. JMER is a high-visibility (over 7,000 visits and over 500 registered members), fully refereed, electronic journal.

The journal provides established and emerging scholars and practitioners with a space for critical and empirical analysis of issues central to Maltese education policy, curriculum reform and pedagogy.

The scope of JMER is not limited to schooling. The journal should be of interest to scholars and practitioners working in: pre-school education; adult and continuing education; vocational training; popular education; popular culture; education for leisure; TEFL and TESOL; museum education; media education; distance and flexible learning; open learning; education and the Maltese diaspora; education administration and management; education leadership; education planning; and history of education.

JMER's address is www.educ.um.edu.mt/jmer Prospective contributors should send their manuscript to carmel.borg@um.edu.mt
