Mockery of Maltese

Mr Tony C. Cutajar (The Sunday Times, December 19) was right to express his indignation at the way some TV and radio presenters are making a mockery of the Maltese language, baring their ineptitude nation-wide in the process.

Even if their programmes score high in the popularity ratings (being based on such popular Italian programmes as Raffaella Carrà's Carramba che sorpresa, Maria de Filippi's C'è posta per te and Alberto Castagna's Stranamore), they should think twice before deluding themselves that they are indispensable as presenters.
