Malta's sixth EP seat

It is becoming evident following recent developments that Malta will be given the sixth seat in the European Parliament in 2009. Meanwhile, however, we will most probably be invited to appoint an observer during the interim period (2005-2009).

Obviously this observer should be appointed from among one of the parties currently represented in our Parliament (the MLP or the PN) since this will ensure continuity to our present representatives in the EP.

The appointment of this observer should be made after discussions by the two parties in Parliament.

Maybe appointment by another election could also be considered.
