Obituary
DEBATTISTA. On December 30, at Sa Maison Retirement Home, Pietà, INES, aged 93, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Adelina, widow of John Bonavia, Mary and Martin Cachia of Canada, Jane and Joe Spiteri, Joyce of Canada, Antoinette and Tony Azzopardi, Joe and Doris Debattista, and Doris and Mario Micallef, nephews, nieces and many relatives.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 7.45 a.m. for Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception parish church, Hamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.15 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
FARRUGIA. On December 30, at St Luke's Hospital, PAOLO, aged 71, of Valletta, ex-Enemalta employee, widower of Rose née Cassar, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Paul and his wife Diane, Romwaldo and his wife Doris, and Joseph and his wife Rita, his grandchildren Andrè, Michela, Ian, Luca, Jeremy, Jean Claude and Rossana, his in-laws, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

GAUCI. On December 30, at St Luke's Hospital, Mary née Zammit, aged 85, widow of Joseph. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Martha, wife of John Scerri, Doris, wife of Victor Caruana, Josette, wife of John Finn, both of British Colombia, Canada, Tanya, wife of Stanley Borg Cardona, David and his wife Claire, Anna and Michael, her 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, her sisters Amalia Soler, Tessie and Tommy Demajo, her sister-in-law Polly Zammit, and Mary Zammit. - R.I.P.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated.
PAGNELLI. On December 29, in Rome, Italy, GIUSEPPE, known as Peppino, aged 85, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmelina, his children Michael and his wife Alice, Alida and her husband Francesco, Gwen and her husband Alex, his grandchildren, his brother-in-law Joseph Muscat, his sister-in-law Amelia and her husband Anthony Mangion, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

PIZZUTO. On December 30, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, Ethel, aged 80, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Gerald and his wife Rosemary, her sister Lina and her husband Ronald Pace, nephews and nieces, in-laws, relatives and friends - R.I.P.

Mdina local council will be presenting the Epiphany concert at the Corte Capitanale in Mdina on January 8 at 7 p.m. Entrance is free but advanced booking is recommended by calling the council on 2145 0707.
Mass for peace
Archbishop Joseph Mercieca will be concelebrating Mass at St John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta, today at 5.30 p.m. on the occasion of the World Day of Peace, which is marked on New Year's Day, tomorrow.
The Te Deum will be sung.
