Hotel lays stress on food and drink service

The Victoria Hotel has a new post of food and beverage service coordinator within its business development department and has appointed Daniel Vella to the post.

Mr Vella, 24, successfully completed the hospitality studies course at the Institute of Tourism Studies. He followed this with a diploma in hotel operations and management at the Cambridge International College, which he passed with distinction, and later followed a Leonardo Da Vinci training programme in Umbria, Italy.

Mr Vella was assigned his student work placement at the prestigious Sloane Club, in London and he also carried out research in timeshare management in Malaga, Spain.

The post of food and beverage service coordinator involves assistance to the events coordinator in the promotion of the services offered by the banqueting section which also includes the responsibility of conference hosting, convention organising and other functions. The new post also involves the coordination of the food and beverage service operations and the training and induction of food and beverage service employees in the promotion of the services offered by their department.
