The Maltese government will be closing down its embassy in Budapest early next year.

The government has informed the Hungarian government about the decision in view of its policy to regionalise its embassies through ambassador Noel Buttigieg Scicluna.

Malta's contacts with Hungary will fall under the responsibility of the Maltese Embassy in Vienna.
