Maltapost achieved a record high of 97.5 per cent for next-day delivery of local mail in November.
Maltapost chairman David Stellini said the score compared "extremely well" with some of the world's best postal administrations.
Mr Stellini, who was addressing the annual staff meeting, said the challenges facing Maltapost in the coming year were significant but he was convinced that with the right approach, teamwork and more attention to detail the company could continue to maintain consistently high levels of next-day deliveries throughout the year.
Mr Stellini said that Maltapost's improving next-day delivery rates were indicative of the fact that the investment in new processes, systems and personnel undertaken over the past 18 months were starting to bear fruit.
He said there was still a lot of work that needed to be done and there were a number of areas in which Maltapost must seek to improve its quality of service to customers.
