There is the possibility of isolated showers tomorrow, Christmas Day, a forecaster at the Malta International Airport Met Office said yesterday.
Brian Micallef said it was expected to be partly cloudy with a moderate south to southwesterly wind.
The highest temperature is forecast at 17 degrees Celsius, with a low of 11 degrees.
Mr Micallef said the wind was expected to get stronger in the evening, reaching force seven at night. Showers are expected during the night.
The weather today is expected to be quite sunny but will get rather cloudy overnight, Mr Micallef said. The northwesterly wind is expected to blow at force five during the day and go down to force four by the evening. The temperature today is expected to be between 16 and 10 degrees Celsius.
Showers are also possible on Boxing Day in the morning and Mr Micallef said the southwesterly wind was expected to be strong or very strong. The highest temperature is forecast at 17 degrees Celsius, going down to a low of 14.
Mr Micallef said these temperatures would be quite normal for this time of the year, with the average highest temperature for the end of December being 16 degrees Celsius.
He said the reason for the strong winds over this weekend is low pressure coming from Tunis and moving towards the Tyrrhenian sea.
