Gozo ferry passengers up 3.2 per cent

A total of 1,207,099 passengers used the Malta-Gozo ferries in the third quarter of this year, marking an increase of 37,106 passengers (3.2 per cent) over the same period the year before, according to the National Statistics Office.

The total number of passenger vehicles carried by the ferries dropped by 7,138 to 286,461 (2.4 per cent) in the same period.

In the quarter under review, 5,588 trips were made between Malta and Gozo, marking a decrease of 35 (0.6 per cent) over the same period the year before, the NSO said.

The Malita carried 435,795 passengers - 36.1 per cent of the total passengers in this period - and the other two main Gozo Channel ferries, the Gaudos and the Ta' Pinu, carried 401,194 and 370,112 passengers respectively.
