I would like to point out that the numbers for the emergency service are published regularly on the Green Points and are available on the Mepa website. The number dialled is that for illegal development. Mepa set up different numbers with the specific aim that specialised personnel are alerted in the case of emergency services.

The case has been referred to the relevant officers for investigation.

It may be apt to remind the public of the numbers: Illegal development - 9926 9926 (Malta) and 9924 9924 (Gozo); nature protection - 7949 6320 and pollution control - 9921 9991.
