Calendar 'a work of art'

A selection of artistic works by contemporary artist Marco Cremona are featured in the recently published Middlesea Group 2005 calendar.

Middlesea said its calendar had become a much sought after collector's item for those who are interested in the arts and this year's calendar was no exception. Featuring works by one of Malta's most talented artists, who is recognised for his abstract creations which fuse painting and sculpture, the calendar was "a work of art in itself".

Mr Cremona explores both the figurative and the abstract idiom in painting and in sculpture. He experiments with an array of materials utilising a diversity of media in the abstract form.

He has exhibited his works in individual and collective exhibitions in Malta and in Europe including Britain, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Austria. His works grace the parish churches of St Julians, St Andrew's, Mellieha, Hamrun and Zebbug.
