Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi has asked the transport minister whether the Transport Authority could consider allowing cars to drive on the bus lane in Marsa between 7 and 8.30 a.m. so as to ease traffic congestion.

Replying, Minister Jesmond Mugliett said the purpose of the bus lane was to encourage the people to use public transport.

Once the bus lane was not used during peak hours, its purpose would be lost.
