A week has now passed (at the time of writing) with the Valletta waterfront roads closed. Isn't it time to open up the quays as was done for the three days during the Eden Foundation Christmas Village, if not 24 hours at least during the morning and evening rush hours?

This will help the horse cabs and the 40-foot trailers, buses, fully laden trucks, pedestrians and the thousands of car drivers all fighting for some space on the only road leading into Valletta. Besides preventing more pollution and frayed nerves.

One morning it took me over 30 minutes shifting from brake to first gear (and yes, surprise, surprise, twice managing also second gear!). And all this from near the Super One to Floriana.
