A Melita Cable flagship outlet has been opened at the Embassy complex in Valletta, coinciding with the launch of the Digital TV pre-booking scheme.

The Embassy outlet, a combined payment office for Melita Cable and Onvol internet on cable bills, a customer care office as well as a retail shop, will be open every day, including Sundays and public holidays, throughout this month. The shop provides Melita Cable customers with an easier to find and reach town centre access to the different services on offer.

"The opening of the Valletta outlet is yet another important step towards providing our customers with better service," commented J.R. Aquilina, chief executive officer of Melita Cable plc.

The latest product in the Melita Cable showcase is Digital TV and customers can now start pre-booking the service. The pre-booking phase will go on until such time when Melita Cable officially launches its Digital TV services, scheduled for February 2005.

"The pre-booking process is very simple and customer friendly," Franco de Gabriele, head of sales and marketing, said. "Existing and new clients can either call our telesales numbers or visit our outlet at the Embassy complex. By booking their Digital TV service clients are guaranteed to be the first to enjoy the benefits of Digital TV. Moreover, Melita Cable has a surprise for the first 500 customers who pre-book to the Digital TV service."

The first installations of digital converters are scheduled for January. Throughout the pre-launch phase viewing clients will enjoy Digital TV at the current analogue rates. The new digital rates will apply once the pre-launch phase is over and the official launch is announced.

"The pricing for Digital TV is very affordable and competitive," Mr de Gabriele said. "Clients in our current Family tier in analogue are only charged a marginally higher fee to get 75 channels of top-quality TV, in stereo sound and better picture quality."
