Cospicua parish has just celebrated the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady.

This year too, the parish celebrated the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception by the Blessed Pope Pius IX on December 8, 1854 and the beginning of the centenary since the crowning of Our Lady's image in the titular painting of the sanctuary, which took place on June 25, 1905.

To mark this great event, the parish pastoral council has set up a commission with the objective to draw up a programme of religious and external activities for next year.

The purpose of this letter is for it to serve as an invitation and an appeal to all those who hail from Cospicua but are living elsewhere to join us in the activities spread over the year, especially the activities which will take place in June and December 2005. I appeal to the generosity of every devotee of the Virgin Mary and to all those who are proud of their bond with the city of Cospicua - the city of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady Mary.
