Obituary

CAUCHI. On December 9, at St Luke's Hospital, PAUL, of Valletta, residing at Balzan, aged 85, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Concetta (Tetty), his children Pierre and his wife Tonia, Maria, Anna and Therese, all residing in the UK, his grandchildren Jean-Pierre and his wife Vanessa, Sarah and her husband Antoine, Henri, Danielle and her husband Daren, Mark, James, Lara, Paul and Andrew, his great-grandchildren, his sister Evelyn, his sisters-in-law Sr Carmelina Spiteri FMM and Sr Louise Spiteri SJA of Cyprus, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital on Monday, December 13 at 8 a.m. for Balzan parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. No flowers by request but donations to Gesu fil-Proxxmu Fund will be greatly appreciated.

FARRUGIA COLEIRO. On December 10, at St Vincent de Paul residence, JOSEPH, formerly of Floriana, aged 76, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Emily, wife of Joseph Bonello, his nephews Adrian and his wife Daniela and Edward, as well as Martina and Timothy, other relatives and friends The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 2.30 p.m. for the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave. Special thanks go to the doctors and nursing staff at Fatima Ward, St Vincent de Paul residence. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MIFSUD. On December 10, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, CARMEL (Charles, BoV employee), aged 38, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Mary Jo, his son George, his parents, his brother and family, in-laws, other relatives, friends and colleagues. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 2.15 p.m. for Naxxar parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at Naxxar cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PACE. On December 10, at her daughter's residence in Pembroke, TESSIE née Role' of Pietà, aged 67, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Hector, her daughters Doreen and Christine, her brother and sister, in-laws, grandchildren, relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves her daughter's residence today at 9 a.m. for Fatima Sanctuary, Guardamangia, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Hospice Movement will be appreciated.

Requiem Masses

Tomorrow being the trigesima die of the departure to eternal life of our dearly beloved INA CARUANA SCICLUNA, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated at 5 p.m. at the Salesian Oratory, Sliema. Our family and friends are welcome to attend and to celebrate this Eucharist in her memory.

Memorial lecture

The Malta University History Society will be holding the Andrew Vella annual memorial lecture at the Italian Cultural Institute, in Valletta on December 17 at 6 p.m.

Stefan Cachia will talk on Money Matters: Knights Against The Order. He will look at the evolution of the concept of poverty within the Order of St John as from the 13th century.

Historians, students and the public are invited.

Tea concerts

The Stradivari Season and the Corinthia Palace Hotel have joined forces to hold a new series of Sunday afternoon tea concerts, the first being held tomorrow at 3.30 p.m. The concert will be held at the San Anton Room of the hotel near San Anton. Anne Marie Camilleri Podestá on the harp and James Grech, violin, will present a programme of popular classics.

Tickets cost Lm8.

Dog lost

A small, light brown coloured dog by the name of Peter was lost yesterday morning in Kappara.

Anyone who found the crossbreed dog may contact Louis Wirth on 2138 7702. A reward is being offered.
