More students to visit Parliament next year

Ylenia Grech, a student at St Aloysius College, was among 175 higher secondary school students, from all schools, who answered questions about the European Union and the European Parliament in a competition organised by the Directorate EU Affairs and Policy Development within the Ministry of Education, Youth and Employment, the Department of Youth and the Youth Service Organisation.

The 30 winners were sent to Strasbourg with funding from the Parliament through the European Parliament Information Office in Malta.

The Director EU Affairs, Frans Borg, said the Parliament organised 20 such visits a year and that the directorate intended to organise further competitions and to send more groups - about 150 students in all - to Parliament next year. Contacts have already been initiated with the European Parliament's Information Office.
