Malta-Tunisia talks

Tunisian Foreign Minister Abdelbaki Hermassi arrives in Malta today for talks with Foreign Minister Michael Frendo during the fifth session of the Maltese Tunisian Mixed Commission.

The issues to be discussed are expected to include a Maltese proposal for yearly political consultations to be held between the two countries, the Euromed process, illegal immigration and the Middle East peace process.

The Maltese Tunisian Mixed Commission first met in December 1990 in Tunisia. It serves as a platform for both countries to discuss issues of political, cultural, social and economic interest presided by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries.
