It was a dream come true for Daniel Genete, a 12-year-old refugee from Eritrea, who was presented with a television set by Forestals Ltd.

Daniel had told a Ministry for Justice and Home Affairs official he loved football but because he didn't own a TV set he was unable to follow his favourite players, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo of Real Madrid. The ministry official spoke to Forestals Ltd and asked if they could help. Winston DeGiorgio immediately offered a TV set to Daniel.

Mr Degiorgio earlier this week presented the set to Daniel in the presence of Mario Friggieri, of the refugee services at Appogg Agency. Daniel's sister, Feben, was present.

Daniel arrived in Malta with his mother Abady and sisters Feben and Nardos. A third sister, baby Asmeret, was born in Malta. The Genete family, apart from the father, had arrived in a small boat with a group of irregular immigrants last September. They were granted humanitarian protection and are now living in the Hal Far open centre.
