Cospicua parish will, this year, as usual, celebrate the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady on Wednesday.

This year too, this parish will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception by Blessed Pope Pius IX on December 8, 1854, and the centenary of the crowning of Our Lady's titular painting on June 26, 1905.

To mark this great event, the Parish Pastoral Council has set up a commission to draw up a programme of religious and external activities for next year.

The purpose of this letter is to invite and appeal to all those who hail from Cospicua but are living elsewhere to join us in the activities spread over the year, especially those which will take place in June and December, 2005.

I appeal to the generosity of every devotee of the Virgin Mary and to all those who are proud of their bond with the city of Cospicua - the city of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady Mary.
