St Edward's College yesterday filed its pleas in the First Hall of the Civil Court following allegations of bullying made by the parents of a child attending the school.
The college claimed that it had taken all necessary steps over the years to remedy every situation it was informed about by the boy or his parents and it claimed that the parents' writ was unfounded in fact and at law.
In the declaration of facts annexed to the pleas, the college claimed that the boy had learning, behavioural, physiological and other problems and that it had always brought these problems to the parents' attention. It also resulted that the boy lied constantly.
The college added that it had investigated all allegations made by the boy and his parents and these had always resulted to be unfounded.
The boy was instructed to spend his break under the eyes of the headmaster but this had only occurred once and the boy had not again attended the school.
Dr Austin Sammut and Dr Peter Fenech signed the pleas.
