Wine's arrival celebration

The wine club 118 Wines will be hosting an event for wine lovers at the Caprice Lounge of the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard tomorrow at 7.30 p.m. to celebrate the arrival of Beaujolais Primeur.

As the tradition goes, at one minute past midnight on the third Thursday of each November, from little villages and towns, over a million cases of Beaujolais Primeur begin their journey through a sleeping France to Paris for immediate shipment to all parts of the world. 118 Wines will be celebrating the Beaujolais tradition.

"This is the first Christmas we will be celebrating since the launch of our wine club. The tradition of Beaujolais Primeur is renowned for being one of the most frivolous and animated rituals in the wine world therefore we felt that this year this experience should be our Christmas gift to our wine club members," Sabrina Mulligan, Brainbox director, said.

The Christmas event will bring together wine club members and besides wine-tasting, the event includes an explanation of the Beaujolais Primeur tradition.
