The Malta Federation of Organisations of Persons with Disability has condemned the alleged rape of a minor who, it said, suffered from a mental disabilility.

The federation said the fact that these things happened, showed that there was something wrong with society.

The federation also expressed solidarity with the family of the victim and called on society to protect its more vulnerable members.

Thirteen boys and a girl are currently facing charges of defilement of minors.
