Two young men were yesterday remanded in custody after they were charged with the biggest street haul of ecstasy tablets.

Gordie Felice, 22, a machine operator of Qormi, and William Agius, 18, unemployed, of Zabbar, were charged before Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera and accused of associating themselves with others and conspiring to traffic ecstasy.

The two were arrested on Saturday afternoon and the police allege that some 2,043 ecstasy tablets having a street value of about Lm12,000 were found in their possession.

Felice and Agius were charged with possessing drugs with the intent of supplying it to others and with trafficking drugs within 100 metres of a school.

Dr Joe Giglio, Dr Roberto Montalto and Dr George Hyzler appeared for the accused.
