Vanishing bus lane

While the authorities have decided to keep the bus lane in Marsa, the said bus lane is not in agreement over the matter and has voluntarily deleted itself from the surface of the road.

It also seems that the other road markings have vanished in a show of sympathy with the bus lane.

Really now, how can the authorities present such compelling evidence about the merits of bus lane when they can't even keep it painted on the street for more than six months?
