Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna is holding a public lecture in English with the theme The Phoenicians and Death, by Nicholas Vella, lecturer in archaeology, at the Gallerija Couvre Porte in Vittoriosa today at 6.30 p.m.

Dr Vella will explain that the only time that archaeologists can come in contact with people from the past is when they find their skeletons. Archaeology has been enormously helpful in reconstructing the burial rituals of the ancient Phoenicians.

All monthly lectures and public talks by FWA for this year are being held at the Gallerija Couvre Porte as part of the FWA's commitment towards the cultural rehabilitation of the Cottonera region.

This initiative is being supported by the Malta Tourism Authority, the Cottonera Rehabilitation Project and the Vittoriosa local council.

Entrance is free.
