Humidity expert inspects St John's Co-Cathedral

Ippolito Massari, the best known European expert on humidity, has visited Malta to study the problem of humidity at St John's Co Cathedral and will draw up a report which will assist in the preparation of future conservation projects at the cathedral.

Mr Massari was a guest of the St John's Co-Cathedral Foundation and the Valletta Rehabilitation Project.

During his visit to Malta he held discussions with Ray Bondin, VRP's executive coordinator, Claude Busuttil, the VRP's executive secretary, and Daniela Apap Bologna, curator of the Cathedral.

His visit was made possible through the technical assistance and aid provided by the International Centre for the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage following (ICCROM) a proposal made by Dr Bondin and the presentation of a report by Mrs Apap Bologna.

ICCROM financed the technical visit.
