'Do not rush health reform'

The executive commission of the health services section of the Union Haddiema Maghqudin said yesterday that discussions on the health reform should not be rushed.

It said the government had been saying that the reforms were required since 1993 and it was only now that part of the reform proposals were being drafted.

The commission noted that discussions on the sectoral agreements for grades represented by the section had started a long time ago and were taking a long time to be concluded because of the government's intransigence.

It said that while it was always willing to discuss the government's proposals there first had to be consensus on the sectoral agreements.
