A Qawra man was yesterday charged with conspiring to deal in over eight kilogrammes of cannabis resin.

Joseph Mifsud, 39, was arraigned before Magistrate Anthony Vella and charged with the possession of the drug in circumstances denoting it was not for his personal use on and before November 20.

He was also charged with committing the crime within 100 metres from a school or youth centre and relapsing.

Mifsud pleaded not guilty to all charges and was remanded in custody.

Inspector Nezren Grixti prosecuted.

Dr Joseph Giglio appeared for Mifsud.
