Obituary
CROCKER. On Thursday, November 18, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, MARY née Micallef, of Pembroke, widow of Arthur, aged 76, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her only son Mark and his wife Adriana, her beloved grandson Graham, her brother Anthony Micallef and his wife Jeannette of the US, her sister Josephine Sciberras of Australia, her sisters-in-law Edith and Myra of the US, her nephews and nieces in the UK, US and Australia and her other relatives and friends in Malta.
The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital today at 9.30 a.m. for the Risen Christ church, Pembroke, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to The Malta Hospice Movement and Casa Leone XIII will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Models on display
The Malta Society of Model Makers, founded in March 2004, will be holding a model exhibition at the Catholic Institute, Floriana, from Thursday to November 28. Opening hours are: Thursday: 4 - 7 p.m.; Friday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 - 7 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. - 1p.m. and 4 - 7 p.m. and Sunday: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. The exhibition, consisting of some 140 static and radio-controlled scale models, steam engines and working train models, is the first of its kind. Entrance is free and all are welcome.
Public discussion
The National Parents' Society For Persons With a Disability will be holding a public discussion on the direct payment scheme for persons with disability and their families at the Birkirkara Civic Centre today at 11 a.m.
Through the scheme the individual needs of people with disability are assessed so that the government would provide a direct payment of benefits.

Marian exhibition
The L'Isle Adam musical society of Rabat will be mounting a Marian exhibition at Palazzo Xara from December 4-11 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary since the definition of the dogmatic theology of the Immaculate Conception. The exhibition will feature images of the Immaculate Conception and all persons interested in participating may contact the society's secretariat on 2145 4538 or 2145 1407 after 6 p.m.
Refugee law lecture
The Faculty of Laws will be organising a public lecture on refugee law at the university's Lecture Centre 2 on Thursday at 6.30 p.m.
The topic, The UNHCR Mandate, will be addressed by Michele Manca di Nissa, head of the legal unit at UNHCR in Rome.
The lecture will be introduced by Ian Refalo, Dean of the Faculty of Laws.
Hotel appointment
Hotel Milano Due has appointed Franklin Pulis as general manager. Mr Pulis has worked in a number of four-star establishments as general manager and was responsible for the opening and organisation of four four-star hotels in Sliema and in the north of the island.
Nadur exhibition
The Nadur local council is holding a photographic exhibition by Michael Xuereb at Torri ta' Kenuna until Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Commercial appointment
Advanced Industrial Systems Ltd (AIS) has been appointed authorised distributor and solutions provider for GE Fanuc Automation, a member of the General Electric giant group, which is a leading developer and manufacturer of Industrial Control Systems.
Traffic diversions
Buqana Street, from Roundabout Junction between Valletta Road, Rabat and Mdina Road, Rabat and Roundabout Junction (near the military cemetery) l/o Ta' Qali will be closed to vehicular traffic due to roadworks as from Monday until further notice.
Traffic will be diverted through Valletta Road, Rabat, and l-Infetti Street, Rabat.
Main Street, Tarxien will be closed to traffic today from 9 - 11 a.m. Public transport will be diverted to Xintill, is-Sorijiet, Tarxien streets and Paola Square.
