The first edition of Pink, Allied Newspapers Ltd's flagship monthly magazine, is out with The Times tomorrow.
The magazine "for women, about women, exploring and celebrating women in their multifaceted forms" is being edited by The Times journalists Fiona Galea Debono and Ariadne Massa.
Published by Allied Newspapers and printed by Progress Press, Pink is a Mediamaker production.
Following research, Allied Newspapers firmly believes in the existence of a market for a strictly women's magazine, which does not, however, mean pages upon pages of fashion and beauty.
Pink aims to focus also on a strong editorial content, offering in-depth informative and investigative stories.
In tomorrow's first issue, Pink shines a spotlight on the mysterious world of prostitution, with an eyewitness account of a night in the day of a sex worker, and, in view of upcoming World Aids Day, on the issue of HIV, through a woman's first-hand account of contracting an STD from her own philandering husband.
Articles focus on the female perspective and are accompanied by vital statistics and useful information to paint a real picture.
Pink also focuses on health and fitness, beauty and fashion, as well as a number of regulars, including a monthly recipe with a twist in Tabletalk, a light-hearted vox pop in Mouthpiece, a gripping and humorous column in Girltalk, advice on relationships in Relationtips and from a psychologist in Pinkshrink.
Designed by Helen Cassar Torreggiani and Joe Schembri and produced by a strong and creative team at Mediamaker, Pink promises to offer a fresh image and approach.
