Two men were yesterday charged with breaking into a Birkirkara residence and stealing over Lm500 worth of furniture on Tuesday.

Etienne Micallef, 29, and a 17-year-old boy pleaded guilty to stealing the items from Mary Arrigo's house.

Magistrate Denis Montebello ordered Micallef to attend a rehabilitation programme and, pending judgement, the teenager was granted bail against a Lm100 deposit and a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Inspector Victor Aquilina prosecuted.
