The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce is launching its Website, www.artsmalta.org to broaden its public and to facilitate access by the public to the many facilities it offers.

The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce was founded 150 years ago and is sited at Palazzo de La Salle, Republic Street, Valletta.

The society led to the setting up of the Malta Trade Fair, and helped many famous Maltese artists in their training. The society donated to the nation Antonio Sciortino's sculpture, Les Gavroches, and organises some 1,400 lessons in art, music and crafts in fours seasons of courses each year, with about 500 students participating each season for a nominal fee.

The Website gives the opportunity to those interested to find out more abotu the society and its activities, as well as enrolling for courses and giving comments.

Through an arrangement with Alert Communications, artists, musicians and cultural organisations are offered an opportunity to include their name in a section on the site.
