Obituary
GATT. On November 10, MABEL née Tabone, widow of Joseph, aged 87, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her beloved children, Rita, widow of Arthur Mizzi, and Anthony and his wife Sally, her sister Inez Scicluna and her brother Victor and his wife Margaret, her grandchildren Alan and Jane, Jackie and Paul, Tisha and Mark, Simon, Suzie, Nicola and Peter, Nicholas, Sara, her great-grandchildren Alexander, Emma, Alexander and Thomas, Michael, Francesca, Matthew, Max and Rebecca, her in-laws Barbara, Lilian and Christine Tabone, Vicky and Louis Galea, Jimmy Gatt, Henry and Maria Gatt, Rose Cook, Margaret dei Conti Manduca and Victor Tonna, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 8.15 a.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
MICALLEF. On Thursday, November 11, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, PAUL, of Birkirkara, residing at St Paul's Bay, widower of Marlene née Glanville. He leaves to mourn his loss his only daughter Maria Pia, brother to Joseph, Lily, Carmelina. Louise, Marianne, Salvino and Reno, his in-laws Lina wife of Joseph Farrugia, Joseph and his wife Carmen and Bernadette, his friend Lora Brincat, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

On November 11, at his residence in Fleur-de-Lys, TONY (President of the Malta Culinary Association), ex Royal Air Force employee, of Hamrun, aged 63, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Connie, his daughters Odette and her husband Paul Chetcuti, Lorna and her husband Albert Borg, his son Jonathan, his beloved granddaughters Lara and Yanika, his sisters and their families, his wife's family, members of the Malta Culinary Association, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Hamrun where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Midwives' Celebration
The Midwives' Association celebrated the 30th anniversary of its foundation with thanksgiving Mass and the presentation of babies at the Attard parish church.
The association aims to promote midwifery and to provide education and counselling to the child-bearing family. Mass was celebrated by Bishop Annetto Depasquale.
Association president Rita Borg Xuereb thanked all those who supported the association over the past 30 years.
Entomology talks
The Entomological Society of Malta will hold its next meeting at the National Museum of Natural History, in Mdina tomorrow at 3 p.m. Paul Gatt will deliver a talk entitled Reduction And Loss Of Wings In Diptera. This will be followed by a talk on How the Honeybee Forages for Water, by Claudette Gambin.
Music For Charity
A weekend of music is being held at Supernova Heights Bar, in Kalkara tomorrow and Sunday from 8 p.m. onwards in aid of Dar il-Wens, a residential home for disabled persons in Kalkara.
The bands participating are Beangrowers, Ivan Filletti, Scar, Gianni and Friends, River Stone, Mendala Malta and others.
Lectures On Holy Eucharist
The St Francis prayer group is holding a series of lectures on the Holy Eucharist on the occasion of the Year of the Holy Eucharist, at the St Francis Centre, Quarries Street, Hamrun, every Tuesday at 7 p.m. starting this Tuesday. Choral Performance
The Collegium Musicum Choir and Orchestra, under Dion Buhagiar's direction, will be presenting Messa De Morti by Francesco Azzopardi, at St John's Co-Cathedral on November 23 at 7.30 p.m. The Collegium Musicum is the co-cathedral's resident choir and Mro Buhagiar is its maestro di cappella.
Appointment to global body
The chief executive officer of the Richmond Foundation, Doris Gauci, has been appointed vice-president of Gamian Europe (Global Alliance of Mental Illness Advocacy Networks) for a two-year term.
Ms Gauci has been active in Gamian-Europe for the last four years and has always been elected as a member on the board of directors.
The Richmond Foundation is an affiliated member of this organisation. Gamian-Europe actively supports and engages in research projects pertaining to mental illness and the dissemination of the results of such research.
