Charged with usury

A Valletta man was yesterday charged with usury.

Mario Gauci, 36, pleaded not guilty to illegally loaning money to a man against interest on and before Tuesday and relapsing.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm5,000.

Police Inspector Joseph Cordina prosecuted.

Dr José Herrera and Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for Gauci.
