Maltese hospitality

Like Julian Borg, I have noticed that few positive letters are sent to The Times. Therefore, I decided to send my letter concerning Maltese hospitality and helpfulness, which I experienced last summer.

First of all a very big thank you to Captain Giovanni Saia and the crew of the Virtù Rapid Ferries catamaran which crossed from Catania to Malta on June 23. The captain proved very understanding and the crew very helpful when they found out I had a vehicle which was far too high to fit into the boat. The crew was very helpful in reducing the height of the van by about 40 cm (I know it sounds incredible). I finally made my way to Malta and I even managed to come back. I am very grateful to those who helped me on the way.

As if the initial transport problems were not enough I contracted conjunctivitis during my stay in Malta and I had the pleasure to visit the Ophthalmology Ward of St Luke's Hospital. I mean it, it was a pleasure as I cannot recall such an efficient and smooth treatment in my own country.

Poland has got many hospitals; my city itself must have at least 10. You have just one but what a great service you get there! I envy your doctors and health services and it was not the only time I encountered them. And what is more, my form E-111 was accepted without much hassle.

Congratulations!
