Art methodology discussion

Expressionist landscape artist James Vella Clark will be the next artist at Action Base Studio's ...inprogress series of events. During the event on Friday, the artist will be 'performing' live through the painting of a canvas and will be discussing his art and methodology as he works on the original painting. The event will commence at 8 p.m. and is open to the public.

The event will be introduced by Prof. Joe Friggieri who will highlight a number of aspects directly related to the artist's creative process, followed by the live painting session by the artist. Throughout the event the audience present will have the opportunity to address the artist through questions and observations related to his art and the methodology he applies. The event will also mark the launch of an updated version of the artist's website.

Commenting on the upcoming project, Mr Vella Clark said: "It will be a big challenge for me but hopefully a very interesting one as well. I wanted to provide my public with an insight into the way I paint and the factors that inspire my artistic expression. This event will also be an opportunity for all those interested in art to get a glimpse of the various stages of producing a painting. It will be a collective effort through which people will hopefully come to appreciate painting a bit more."
