Young singer places second in Moscow festival
Mellieha singer Annabelle Debono, 16, is back from Moscow where she placed second in the song section of the Roza Vetrov International Talent Festival. The festival, which includes both singing and dancing competitions, was celebrating its tenth year.
Mellieha singer Annabelle Debono, 16, is back from Moscow where she placed second in the song section of the Roza Vetrov International Talent Festival.
The festival, which includes both singing and dancing competitions, was celebrating its tenth year. Taking part were participants from India, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Hungary, Russia, Macedonia and Malta, with 66 entries for the singing competition. Miss Debono participated in the festival after winning the Grand Prix at the Golden Cross International Song Festival held in Malta last September.
In Moscow, she interpreted two songs, in Maltese and English. She was interviewed by Moscow TV and was one of the performers who sang the closing ceremony song in Russian.
Miss Debono is a student of the Junior College and also takes piano and theory lessons at St Monica School, Mosta. She is also an active member of the St Monica Choir.
